Stony Brook University’s Women’s Studies Program invites applications for the appointment of Associate or Full Professor (Chair), effective September 1, 2009. The Women’s Studies Program at Stony Brook is an interdisciplinary academic program that offers a major, minor, and graduate certificate.
Required: Ph.D. in social sciences, behavioral sciences, humanities, arts, or interdisciplinary fields and a distinguished record of feminist scholarship and teaching are required. Preferred: Certificate, M.A. or Ph.D. in Women’s Studies and Administrative experience, especially in women’s studies or other interdisciplinary programs. The tenure home of the successful candidate will be in Women’s Studies. The candidate should share the program’s commitment to interdisciplinary studies and be eager to lead in its expansion.
