VISITING COMPOSITION INSTRUCTOR / ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: Department of English and Communications
Full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track, one-year renewable (up to three years) appointment to begin August 1, 2009. One or more positions available.
QUALIFICATIONS: MA in English (or Master’s degree in related field with 18 semester graduate hours in English) with graduate coursework in composition pedagogy. Evidence of excellence in composition instruction. Demonstrated commitment to teaching first-year composition. Preferred: Experience teaching in a networked classroom.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Teach four sections each semester in first-year composition sequence (ENGL 1010: Writing I and/or 1020: Writing II) and perform departmental duties (e.g., committee involvement).
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Competitive.
