Suffolk University seeks candidates for the Director of the Writing Center responsible for the leadership and management of the Writing Center which supports students in the College of Arts and Sciences and in the Sawyer Business School. The development of student writing is a key component of the undergraduate curriculum. The Center is based on a peer tutor model and charged with assisting students with their writing in all disciplines and at all levels across the colleges. The Director will oversee programming and administrative activities of the Center; create, implement, and deliver workshops; and assess programs to provide for continuous improvement.

Master's degree in English or related field with substantial Writing Center experience and/or advanced coursework, required. An earned doctorate in English or Rhetoric and Composition, preferred. Must have knowledge of, and experience with, college-level instruction and methods as well as strong supervisory, managerial, and interpersonal skills. Initial deadline for applications is April 1, 2010 with a start date of July 1, 2010.
